Welcome!

Angola is a beautiful community nestled in the northeast corner of Indiana. We are fast becoming a destination city because of our 101 lakes, Pokagon State Park, Trine University (formerly Tri-State University), a nationally recognized k-12 school system and a hard working, well-trained work force.

Many changes are occurring or will soon be occurring with our community landscape. Trine University is in the middle of a $90 million dollar Capital Campaign. A new Student Center and several new residential apartments have been built. Three fraternity houses are being built on campus at this time. Soon a new football stadium and new track will be built.

Construction of our new bike and walking trail has begun and will be finished by the summer of 2009. We are working on grants that will allow us to enhance the beauty of our downtown that will make shopping and traveling through our downtown an even more pleasant experience.

North of town we see the new ProFed Credit Union Bank building, the new Farmers and Merchants State Bank and the new Kohl's Department Store. Soon Peter Franklin Jewelers will be in their new building.

West of the City of Angola finds the new Buck Lake Terrace Community starting to develop with its villaminiums for 55 and over, a senior apartment complex and a new nursing home.

We are also partnering with the private sector and Trine University to work on the creation of a High Tech Park to help bring new higher paying jobs for people in our community as well as to help entrepreneurs to start businesses in Angola and Steuben County.

With Indiana being known as the "Crossroads of America" then Angola must be the "Main Intersection". With US Hwy 20, the Indiana Toll Road and I-69 going through our county. Please contact us with any questions you may have about our beautiful city.
