Angola is one of the most talked about small cities in the State of Indiana. We are fast becoming a destination city because of our 101 lakes, Pokagon State Park, Tri-State University (soon to be Trine University at the Tri-State Campus), a nationally recognized k-12 school system and a hard working, well-trained work force. Tri-State University is in the middle of a $90 Million dollar Capital Campaign with the building of new residential apartments, a new Student Center, a new football stadium, a new track and expansion of their over 40 academic areas. We are a progressive community that relishes our past while looking to the future. We have implemented our high-speed fiber optic network throughout our City. Both of our industrial parks offer multiple providers of high speed Internet and both offer point-to-point direct fiber optic connections. We will be having a busy summer as we build our portion of the bike and walking trail which will be accessible to all of our schools, the Breeden YMCA and eventually all the way out to Pokagon State Park. We will also be having two new hotels built at the I-69 and US Hwy 20 interchange. Bucklake Terrace will also be developing a new retirement community west of town that will eventually include villaminiums for 55 and over, a senior apartment complex, an assisted living complex and a new nursing home. We are also partnering with the private sector and Tri-State University to study the creation of a High Tech Industrial Park to help build new higher paying jobs for people in our area as well as to help entrepreneurs to start new businesses in Angola and Steuben County. With Indiana being known as the “Crossroads of America” then Angola must be the “Main Intersection” with US Hwy 20, the Indiana Toll Road and I-69 going through our county. Please contact us with any questions you have about our beautiful city or Steuben County. Sincerely, Richard M. Hickman
