- Grass Clippings
- The Street Department does not pick up grass clippings. Grass clippings should be left on the lawn after mowing so that the nutrients in the clippings can go back into the soil. Grass clippings may also be taken to the Northeast Solid Waste Management Compost site located by the 4-H Park. They can be reached at 1.800.777.5462
- Brush Pick-up
- Weeks of April 2nd through October 15th
- Pick-up starts at 7 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.
- Pick-up is at the curb side only. Do not put brush in the street.
- All brush must be stacked in one direction. If the work was hired done, the contractor needs to be the one to haul away the trimmings. If the pile of brush or tree trimmings is too large, it will be at the Street Superintendent's discretion to determine whether the City will pick it up or if it is the responsibility of the homeowner.
- Leaf Pick-up
- October 10th through December 2nd
- Loose leaves should be raked as close to the edge of the street as possible without placing leaves in the street. Be sure that leaves are free of any other debris. All loose leaves are picked up on the curb site only.
- South of Maumee Street will be picked up Monday and Tuesday. North of Maumee Street will be picked up Wednesday and Thursday.
- Please do not bag your leaves
- Christmas Tree Collection
- Curbside collection will begin December 27th and run though January 6th
- Please place your tree next to the curb, not in the street
- Collection schedules will only be interrupted in the event of severe weather (brush, leaf, or Christmas Tree collection).
- Snow Removal
- Street Department crews are vital to the city during the winter months. Snow and icy conditions can become dangerous causing residents and tourists to become stranded and panicked. As soon as snow and ice are predicted, our crew jumps into action to get the City's salt spreaders and snow plows ready. Our crew members often risk unsafe conditions in order to ensure that the streets around Angola remain clear and safe.
- Street Sweeping
- The mound and business area is swept on Monday and Friday each week. The east side of the city is swept Monday and Wednesday, and the west side is swept on Friday, weather permitting
- Storm Sewers
- The Street Department cleans catch basins used with storm or combined sewers to remove grit which might otherwise enter and be deposited in sewers. We inspect and replace the old catch basins each year.
