Smoke Detectors

In the wake of recent tragedies that have occurred around the country due to homes not having working smoke detectors, the Angola Fire Department would like to remind the citizens of Angola on the importance of having working smoke detectors in your home. In recent months there have been many fire related deaths, not just in Indiana but across the country, in residence fires without a working smoke detector. This shows the importance of having a working smoke detector in your home. Along with having a working smoke detector, all the occupants of the residence should know two ways out and have an escape plan.

In the event that you don’t have a working smoke detector in your residence, the Angola Fire Department has a program that they will come and install a smoke detector free of charge. The application for this program can be obtained from the City of Angola’s web site or by stopping by the Angola Fire Department from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM any day of the week. Any questions can be answered by calling the fire station at 665-5555 or email us at smokedetectors@angolain.org
