Summer Recreation Program

The Angola Parks and Recreation would like to invite our community’s youth to join our summer recreational program. This program’s focus is to encourage kids to be active during the summer months. This year’s program is coordinated by Nina Onofrietti. The hours of Summer Rec are 8am-11am on M-TH and 8am-3:30pm on Fridays. The children can pick and choose which weeks that they would like to attend.

Our main focus for this program is to teach the youth of our community the skill set for each sport and keep them active. This program is available to all local schools which will allow the kids to meet peers and join together to work on a team.

The activities we will be focusing on this year will be basketball, golf, tennis, soccer, football, softball, DNR hunter safety, and backyard games and crafts. The week of DNR Hunter Safety the kids will be learning about the DNR program and it involves firearms and archery. This class will be run by DNR officers to ensure safety and a greater learning. During backyard games and crafts week the kids will be given the opportunity to express their creativity and do some activities that everyone can enjoy. The other weeks such as basketball, golf, tennis, softball, football, volleyball and soccer will be taught by people of our community that are qualified to teach the sport and who have played in their past. These weeks will be focused on the fundamentals, skill set and game play.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us! Our hope is to provide young students with a fun and safe environment. We look forward to a great summer!
