Street Department

Commissioner:  Chad Ritter

The Street Department provides maintenance of city streets, alleys, parking lots, sidewalks, curbs, and handicap ramps. The department handles brush pick-up, yard waste pick-up, leaf pick-up, as well as snow and ice removal. We also handle city street sign maintenance, street sweeping, replace and repair of old catch basins as needed.

Brush and Yard Waste pick-up will begin on the first Monday of each month, beginning Monday, April 3, 2023. We will make ONE pass through the city and begin again the next month. Collection starts in the Northeast section of the City and works clockwise around to finish in the Northwest.

Brush and Yard Waste must be curbside by 7:00am on Monday morning.

To assist our workers in disposal, place brush and limbs in one direction.  A brush pile should be no more than 4 feet wide x 4 feet high x 8 feet long.

Brush must be at the curb and NOT in the street or near parked cars and telephone poles.  Keep limbs separate from garden waste and leaves.

We do NOT pick up rocks, root balls, or other debris.

If you have contracted tree trimming, tree removal, or other lawn or landscaping work, it is your responsibility to make certain your contractor removes and disposes of this brush, limbs and all other debris.
