Downtown Services

Soldiers' Monument statues have been removed for maintenance and cleaning.  The statues will be returned after maintenance has finished.  This is a project of Steuben County.  For more information regarding the project, please contact Steuben County, Indiana Government. The mound lawn is also under restoration to remove invasive grass species. A herbicide is being used to remove the current lawn. It will be re-seeded with pure grass. We ask that the public stay of the mound for their safety. For more questions about the lawn project, you can contact the City of Angola Parks and Recreation Department.

Small businesses are a big part of our state and local economy.  Below are some links that may be helpful to address some of the issues posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Downtown Services continues the ongoing work of downtown revitalization through marketing and community development.  It serves as a liaison between downtown businesses and the City of Angola, is a point of contact for registration of downtown public events, works as staff for the Historic Preservation Commission, and has partnered with the Downtown Angola Coalition,  Angola's Main Street Organization. Downtown Services is also an integral part of growing a sustainable arts and culture foundation in Angola.  It's recent work with the Mayor's Arts Council has resulted in eight new sculptures throughout the commercial historic downtown district.
