The City of Angola, Indiana is the gateway to the northeast corner of Indiana.  It is a destination community for visitors, businesses and industries with 101 lakes, Pokagon State Park, Trine University, Cameron Memorial Hospital, our nationally recognized K-12 school system, and hardworking, educated workforce.

Angola offers much more than most communities our size.  We have many recreational opportunities with biking and walking trails, which connect the city's park system, our downtown, our schools, and our retail shopping centers.  We have antique stores and unique specialty shops.  We have the newly restored Brokaw Movie House with its renovated Art Deco interior.  Angola and Steuben County are the homes of Chapman's Brewing Company, Satek Winery and Briali Winery.

Trine University has taken a one hundred year old church and renovated it into the beautiful T. Furth Center for Performing Arts where such artists as Amy Grant, Wynonna Judd, The Oak Ridge Boys, Herman's Hermits, Three Dog Night, Montgomery Gentry, Lee Greenwood and many other great artists have performed.  This summer they will have Starship, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Air Supply and Pink Floyd performing.

Trine University has also just opened their new MTI Center where men's and women's Division III basketball will be played.  This new building also houses the new golf pro shop, bowling lanes and eSports.  They also opened their new hockey arena this past year which has three men's and one women's hockey team. The arena hosts "open skating" for our local residents and has also been made available to several youth and club hockey teams.  The activity these buildings have created provides a lot of entertainment for people in northeast Indiana during the winter months.

The City of Angola is a growing community.  Three housing additions are currently being developed.  In our downtown, three businesses are doing extensive remodeling on their buildings, including adding upstairs apartments to create a great downtown living experience.  It was recently announced that Wyndham Hotels will be building a new hotel at the west edge of town at I69 and US Hwy 20 next to our new Angola Innovations Park.

Angola's downtown has gone through a transformation over the last several years, all the while maintaining its historic New England look and feel.  We have brick-lined sidewalks, outdoor seating, attractive planters filled with flowers and foliage, and new public facilities with restrooms and an electric car charging station. Our 100 year old Soldiers' Monument has been revitalized with new curbing, grass, lighting, flowers, trees, plants, sprinkling system and railing.

It was recently announced that the City of Angola was ranked in the top 10 by Site Selector Magazine's list of America's Top 100 Micropolitan Cities in the United States.  We were the highest ranking city in the State of Indiana. It is the sixth straight year and the seventh out of eight years that we have made the top 100 list.  The list ranks the top performing communities in economic development with populations of 50,000 or less.  In 2016 we partnered with the Town of Fremont to be named a semi-finalist in the Frontier Communications sponsored "America's Best Communities" contest.

We are a community that works very hard to make our city and our neighborhoods a place that people want to raise their families.  We are constantly working to make our parks more beautiful and our neighborhoods more livable and comfortable.

Working to make our permitting process business-friendly makes our city a great place to do business, as well as keeping our workforce  well trained.  We have training programs for electrical, robotics, industrial maintenance, HVAC, etc. at our Angola Training Center.  We have CNC training, welding and computer training available at the Enterprise Center.  Funding is available through our Angola Investment Fund to help entrepreneurs and businesses grow.  Trine University has an entrepreneurial and innovations program available to students and business owners that is designed to help expand ideas into real world jobs.  Angola wants to have the best-trained workforce possible for our businesses and industries.

The City of Angola supports its residents and businesses through expanding innovation, entrepreneurship and workforce development.  That's why we are known as the community that is "Working Together to Make Visions a Reality".  Call us, email us, or better yet, come visit us.  We want to help you make your vision a reality also.
